A very readable, and brief, online history of the Grand Central Air Terminal by Ron DIckson is at the link.

President (as of the upload date of this page) Andy Heins of the National Waco Club sent the images at right. Andy  runs the day to day business of the Club, and we should all thank him for the effort he expended to help us understand better the Waco aircraft that landed at the Grand Central Air Terminal way back when.

WACO NC7898

This airplane is a model 125, S/N 1452. It was manufactured during 1928. Below, an image of the airplane provided courtesy of Andy Heins (left sidebar). The person leaning against the fuselage is unidentified, as were the date and location of the photograph.

NC7898 appears once in the Register of the Grand Central Air Terminal (GCAT), on Saturday, July 11, 1931 at 2:01PM. Tower Operator A.J. Lygum entered nothing in the Register that identified the pilot, point of origin of the flight, or destination. There is the winged logo of the Waco Aircraft Company on the fuselage that is barely legible.

Aside from this photograph and when it appeared at GCAT, I have no other information on the chain of custody or fate of this airplane. If you can fill in the blanks, please let me KNOW. NC7898 appears in none of the other five Registers.
